Resource Fair offers post-secondary opportunities Thursday, Sept. 21
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Sept. 19, 2017 – ANEWSWIRE — For many individuals and their families, navigating disability services after high school is a significant challenge. Those seeking help and who have loved ones transitioning out of high school are invited to attend “What’s Next? Planning your Future!”
The disability resource fair is scheduled from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at Keiser University, 9100 Forum Corporate Parkway in Fort Myers. The fair is sponsored by the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, LARC, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Osterhout & McKinney, P.A., elder law attorneys.
The resource fair is presented by the Family Care Council Suncoast South and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
Attendees will meet with service providers and agencies who serve Charlotte, Collier, Lee and Hendry/Glades Counties. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
“We hope to provide guidance and answers to what comes next for individuals who receive services through Medicaid Waiver, or those on the waiting list,” said Patricia Oglesby, Family Care Council Suncoast South Chairperson.
Families with younger children are also encouraged to attend to begin planning their child’s transition strategy for post-secondary opportunities.
