Bound Premieres Liberator from Linguist Nick Farmer

Bound adds “Liberator,” an original scifi series by writer and linguist Nick Farmer.

LOS ANGELES – Nov. 8, 2017 – ANEWSWIRE — Today Bound is announcing the release of “Liberator,” an original series by writer and linguist Nick Farmer. “Liberator” tells the story of Orth—the perfect killing machine—taken as a child, warped by genetic engineering, enslaved by cruel masters and compelled to slaughter against his will, until a mysterious stranger offers him the chance to be free.

“‘Liberator’ is an examination of where we as a species came from, and a thought experiment about where we may be going,” said author Nick Farmer. “The tension of being caught between these two worlds is the same tension we feel today: one foot rooted in our tribal, hunter-gatherer origins, the other striding into an unknown future. Trapped by our circumstances, we need a liberator of our own.”

The free Bound app, available for iOS with an Android version coming soon, combines prose, art, and audio with community features in geeky genres ranging from sci-fi and fantasy to thrillers.

“Writing is too often a solitary endeavor,” added Farmer, “but with Bound I can collaborate with a creative team to tell my story as best as possible. Plus, by leveraging the capabilities of a smartphone to enrich the text, I am free to focus on the aspects of writing that I love best: plot and character.”

Nick Farmer is a master of over two dozen languages. He created the Belter conlang for Syfy’s The Expanse, contributed to the best-selling introductory linguistics textbook published by MIT Press, and works to support endangered and indigenous languages.

Bound debuted earlier this year with exclusive content based on the sci-fi time-traveling novel “The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O.” by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland. The app also features content from acclaimed creators such as best-selling thriller author Eliot Peper, former Pixar and Telltale Games creative Stephan Bugaj, and award-winning game writer Matt Entin.
